Edasseri Govindan Nair (1906 -1974) had been a pioneer in transforming the idiom of Malayalam poetry. Variously eulogized as the Poet of Strength, Poet of Humanism and Bard of Motherhood, Edasseri won the hearts of millions of common people with his poems and plays. He remains perpetually relevant for his themes which have been of universal appeal transcending time and geography.
