സിറിയന്‍ നോവലിസ്റ്റ്, കവി, തിരക്കഥാകൃത്ത്.

1964ല്‍ അലെപ്പോയില്‍ ജനനം.

സിറിയയിലെ അസദ് ഭരണകൂടത്തോടുള്ള ചെറുത്തുനില്‍പ്പായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ രചനകള്‍.

പ്രധാന കൃതികള്‍:

Rainbow (Screen Play), Al-Jalali (Memoirs), Haris al-Khadi'a, In Praise of Hatred (International prize forArabic Fiction 2008).,

അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര അറബ് ബുക്കര്‍ സമ്മാനത്തിന് പലതവണ ഷോര്‍ട്ട് ലിസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടു.

2023 സെപ്തംബറില്‍ ദമാസ്‌കസില്‍ നിര്യാതനായി.
